Therapeutic Neuro Expressions (4-week series)-Wake Forest
"Therapeutic Neuro Expression" is a holistic program designed for individuals with neurological disorders (TBI, Stroke, etc) to explore and express themselves through art, journaling, and other creative outlets. By engaging in these therapeutic activities, participants can enhance their emotional well-being, improve cognitive function, and foster a supportive community. Brain Power Bistro (4 week series)
Join our adaptive cooking group, Brainpower Bistro, where we simplify delicious recipes for individuals with neurological challenges (TBI, stroke, etc). In each session, you’ll master easy, nutritious dishes tailored to meet diverse needs, and best of all, we’ll savor our culinary creations together. Come cook, connect, and enjoy the journey to culinary independence with us! Caregivers encouraged to accompany students if needed.

First Annual Adapted Sports Day!
The Adapted Sports Day is a collaboration between NC Adapted Sports, We Will Walk With You, Made4Me, Catalyst Sports - Raleigh, Recreate Yourself, Endless Sports, YMCA of the Triangle Area, and the Town of Cary.
We are bringing several adapted sports and resources to one location for people with a disability and their family/caregivers.
Participation in adapted sports activities will require a registration and signing a waiver at the event.
Adapted Kayaking requires registration to participate.
All sports, you can reserved time slot or freely explore (General Admission)

Boccia Bash -Wake Forest
Join us for an exciting Boccia Workshop, where fun meets strategy! Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a precision ball sport (played in a gym), similar to bocce, designed to be inclusive and accessible for individuals of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities. This workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of the game, focusing on coordination, teamwork, and friendly competition.

2025 SPIRIT of Inclusion Expo
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources is partnering with the Shepherd Center to offer the 2025 SPIRIT of Inclusion Expo on Sunday, March 23, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road.
Free and open to everyone, the Spirit of Inclusion Expo is a one-day event dedicated towards connecting individuals with disabilities and their families with valuable resources and services. Our expo aims to provide information, support, and opportunities to enhance the quality of life for attendees.
